I'm a bit baffled as to how the bracket and guard attach at the top of the rear diff. Can someone with one of these snap a pick of the TOP of it for me? I would really appreciate it, thanks. This is on an 88 RRC, but whatever you can show me will help. -Dave |

No sweat - they are kind of buggers to get on there, but they are nice. The front shots should also show where to weld the tabs. Funky, eh? Let me know if you need anything else Good Luck |

SG in the front is a bit of a pain, but nothing like the QTs - welding and a lot of force to get the rear one up there - but well worth it in my book for the pinion flange protection!! Plus the QT do NOT come off - I was so sick of battling the SGs, I lost the front one, threw the rear in the dumpster. As soon as you start to knock the SGs around, they come off. I would strongly suggest that anyone using SG or similar design drill a hole in the guard and use a steel braided wire as a lanyard to retain the dang things - or be like me; minus a couple of hundred bucks before you realize what happened. |

I have the DAP guard on the front, very heavy peice with the standard band and 2 bolt setup on the top. I chose the DAP one over the 4 or 5 nearly identical ones becasue they are local to me and I try to support local businesses. I'll be keeping an eye on it and probably setting up a lanyard of some sort as Sean suggested. Thanks again. |

the misting... a combination of things, but since Spring is here, it has become a non-issue. I found out my HC was leaking a bit (but this was a new thing, bad fogging was happening since day 1 when I KNOW that there was no anitfreeze in my carpets) so it is bypassed right now as well. However, even when it's quite cold out in the mornings, I can demist quite easily with just the cold outside air. It sure makes for an uncomfortable ride when the temps dip below 30F. I'll be replacing the HC in the Fall and probably revisiting the whole issue again when it's cold. With the weather the way it is now, it's impossible to diagnose adequately. |

Sean, Just printing out your pics. Am I correct that you did NOT use the big spacer that goes up near the pinion? |

Correct. No spacer required for mine. I think that thing was in there to protect the gas tank, no? In any case I think I remember it saying that the spacer is optional and just depends on your setup/application. |

In my case Tim I have used the spacer. Bacause else the guard was rubbing at the nuts of the roroflex. It goes there where the diffguard bolts onto the diff house. ( http://www.rulessoftware.com/Sean/HTML/img_0130.htm ) Petros
