The LA Times ran an interview with Ferdinand Alexander Porsche the creator of the iconic 911 who is back as a consultant for the '03 Cayenne...

"Q: Is that what you were trying to say with the Cayenne?

A: It was important to focus on the aspect that it is a real off-road car, able to go where the Land Rover Defender could go, and on the other hand is a luxury limousine you could take to the opera. And, of course, it still is a Porsche.

Yeah, this thing is gonna go everywhere a Defender could:

dumb

Basically the deal is that no one that buys that piece of shit is ever going to take it off-road, but the poseurs that do buy it can now tell their friends, with total confidence, that "it can go everywhere a Land Rover can" all because Ferdinand said so. What a load of crap, I pity the first yuppie with one of those things that comes up and tells me his Porsche can go everywhere my Disco can.

Is this guy for real?? He's comparing it nonetheless to a Defender. Wouldn't sound so ridiculous if he said something like the Freelander or something but Defender?? Sure would look groovy with a safari rack on it. LOL

Let's see . . keep up with defender . . go to opera, isn't that the Range Rover?
I'd take a RR over that ulgy POS any day and then pull him out when he got stuck.

I don't know, could a Defender go up that hill backwards?

My SAAB could go DOWN that hill, a Ford Explorer could go DOWN that hill.

Is it me, or does the new Porsche really look like the Hyundai, Santa Fe?

I wonder, if when the Santa Fe came out to production, whether the Porsche designers shit themselves, as the designs are so similar.
