Hey D-90 types... I flew out to Vail/Beaver Creek this past weekend for some snowboarding with my wife, and we stayed at Beaver Creek Lodge. As we pulled up to the front door I noticed a SWEET yellow D-90 in the driveway. Anyone from the board perhaps??? I'm just a lowly Disco slob... Chuckster |

Wait a minute!?! Lowly Disco Slob!?!? I actually prefer the disco because of the extra 10 or so inches of wheelbase... Because of this they should actually wheel better than a D90... A good diet and some trimming ant the the "Lowly Disco" has all the off road prowess a D90 has... Has anyone ever made a Disco Convertable? That would really even things out.... Now a 110 with the top off? That would really be sweet |

longer wheel base is good for some things and bad for others. |

LOL, but a longer wheel base is more stable and less likely to roll, but of course your clearance is cut dramatically. For EXTREEEEEEME hardcore wheeling I would tend to agree the shorter the wheel base the better. All in all I think the disco is an excellent compromise, long enough to facilitate the hauling of lots of gear and short enough to get you through MOST hairy situations. And yeah, I've got a slight case of defender envy... |

Carter, The disco is a good compromise. I enjoyed wheeling my disco very much. The truth is that my stock D90 will go many places that my lifted disco would not. I had Defender envy like you and found only one way to cure my ill. I made the switch just in time, the salesman who sold me the D90 said my disco has been back over and over in the last year or so and just had to have an ECU replacement $2000. The sad part was I had it for a year and spent at least that much sorting out all of the issues that I had. I think my disco was cursed??? Cheers, P.S I still have 110 envy |

I don't have the envy that bad I'm still stoked to have my disco right now, plus in all honesty with as much traveling around as I do the increased creature comforts and enclosed cabin are probablly more valuable to me than I want to admit. I just get the envy when I drag the bumper over something offroad Someday I will have a whole fleet of rovers and you can bet at least one 90 and 110 will be in it, LOL.... |

i dont think the difference in wheel base makes a shit of difference. it is the ass load of approach and departure differences that is associated with the 100 disco/range rover wheel base, that's why bobbed rangies are so sweet. d-100 would be a very nice thing. rd |

well wheel base can sometimes make a difference when you get high centered on something, of course more lift can fix that problem too though. |
