The looks of those UK kits from places like BJ Acoustics make me uncomfortable because they're felt-based and would probably soak up water. Even those vinyl-backed kits look as if they would soak up water. The last thing you need in a soft-top is something that soaks up water. Check out: http://www.b-quiet.com/ for various soundproofing materials at reasonable prices. I have a huge roll of their Brown Bread sound deadener but haven't installed any of it. I think Q of the D-90 Source herculined his old red D90 before he sold it. You might shoot him an email and see if the Herculiner helped with noise reduction. |

John - you're right on with the comment about the BJ acoustics material. A friend installed it in his series truck and not only does it act as a sponge, but it looks like s**t (even when new). Bill |

John, What are you going to place over the brown bread in the tub? I checked out the web site and the stuff looks promising but what do I put over it? The old style mat for the soft top (the one that covers the entire tub) is no longer available Says Land Rover Colorado Springs. The one that I have is torn badly. What to do? |

I had the tub Rhinolined and it made a HUGE difference. Also used Dynomat under the doorskins . Now when you close the door it sounds like areall door and not a flimsey piece of aluminum... If you have the fiberglass hardtop, you can Dynomat or install a headliner(i did both) to kill some of the resonance and keep the cabin toastier in the winter. Neil 94 D90 #1092 97 Disco |

That is a tough question. As you know, the Brown Bread has that cheesy aluminum backing on it. Your D90 would look like junk with that stuff exposed. I would rather deal with the drumming noise than look at that ugly site every day. You could do what Neil did and Rhinoline or Line-X or whateverline the bed area and save the Brown Bread for areas that are hidden. These professional lining jobs are really expensive so be sure to be sitting down when they give you the estimate. |

Sean, Give Mohammad a shout at Europarts for the mat-- I think he has them for $156 (hearsay). Troy |
