Does anyone out there know anything about www.expeditionsoverland.com ? I am thinking about purchasing a Ex. MOD 90 or 110 from them and they claim they are completely legit. I know there was a post some time ago that was quite long... (I read the whole thing) but, it never touched on Ex. MOD vehicles. Could this thing be legal? He claims it is around a 1984 or 1985. It is currently registered in California and I am in Florida. Before I fly out to CA and drop the cash on the table for this guy I would like some opinions on the matter that have some backup. No arguments, or bullshit statements. Just some help. I am very close to doing it I just don't want to lose a $10,000 investment... Please, anyone...

The one shown on the website could definitely be a gray-market Rover, could have come in before the laws clamped down on importation.... it's not like he's trying to sell spiffy new 2003 TD5 Rovers.... Just check out the history, and see if it makes sense to ya.... -L

Love the D110. Awesome. Is he saying that he can give you a registration on one here? (I don't see any plates.) I've heard that people take a VIN from an OLD one that is in a junkyard, put that on the truck to be registered, and then bring it into the registration office, pay the taxes and you're done (gotta get through the smog thing too if needed). Also, I managed to register a vehicle as a "Special Construction" once. I had to explain where all the parts came from and have a highway patrolman do an inspection to make sure that all of the lights and everything worked properly. Wicks
