I'm considering making a purchase from these guys.

www.landroversforsale.com

Anyone have any good or bad comments about them? Thanks in advance!

Looks a bit expensive. If you are going to pay top dollar it better have a pretty good warranty (2-3 years)and be in perfect shape. Good Luck...Dave

I strongly recommend you have a look at the D90 yahoo list. Their was quite a bit of info floating around on that list some time ago about this seller.

There are better deals out there. A friend of mine got a '95 hdtp for around $22k. And it came with ARBs f/r, sliders, ARB bumper, winch, etc.
There have even been some in our local paper for as low as $18k. Paying over $30k for a d90 now is not realistic in my eyes.

Al,

I contacted these guys in Birmingham after seeing their web site, and then running across some D90's listed on LRX. The LRX listings made the vehicles sound like they were private owners and not a reseller when in fact they are resellers. So I called and got the run-around. The guy, David I think, tried to jack up the price, then lower the price and add a $2500 fiberglass hard top. He got angry when I asked about the LRX ads.

I ended up avoiding the guys alltogether. You may have a better experience.

Al,

Like everyone above said, shop around first. D-90s have come down on prices now and there are good deals out there. If you're looking at 94's and 95's, I would say $20K - $27K would be a fair price with the SWs being in the higher end of that range. The 97s are still up there in price, although I've seen non-beater, average mileage 97s go for as low as $25K.

Good luck in your search, I was in your shoes last spring and I finally found one (for my wife ) locally last June. I also came across that website when I was looking but I thought they were kinda high so I never bothered contacting them.

Hey Al,

A bit late - Sorry, didn't read this post earlier ... Are you still considering a D90? From our shopping - search last spring, I know of one '97 SW and several others in our neck of the woods (for a bit less than those listed on that site!). Prices have been coming down. Lemme know if you want the info. :-)

Al,

Friend of mine is selling his D90 soft top with fiberglass top. He lives in Birmingham. The truck is a 1994 with R380 and 64000 miles. Coniston green and looks really good. Drives fine. He's had it for a month or so and wants to instead fix up his old Rangie. Looking for $22500. Email me and I can give you his info.

Al, there's one on D-90.com right now which seems like a good buy from the sound of the ad. 1994 D90 with f&r lockers for $17500. Anyway goodluck on your search.

Kim, I was surfing D-90 source last night and to my surprise, you were one of the new additions. Congrats!

Thanks Glenn. ... The D90 really is Greg's. Though I must say, I do have a lot of fun driving it! (LOL, and believe it or not, yes, I really do kindly ask his permission before doing so :-))

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the late reply, I've been real busy with stuff here at work and at home. Anyway I found one and bought her, though she needs a little work. I guess you could say she’s a project, minor issues that can’t be overcome with a little time and TLC. I just didn’t feel comfortable spending a whole lot of money at this time. So I figure I could work on her as time permits.

And David, thanks for the offer of inspecting the truck for me, my wife and I decided to take a little vacation and see her for ourselves.

Ron and Glenn, thanks for the tip! I was actually considering a soft top till I found the one we bought.

Kim, hopefully you get a chance to see her soon. Planning to have her transported to British Car Service for some work before she heads to her new home. Oh and my wife gets the Disco now....hehehe

Thanks again,
Al

Al: ah, you're headed down that slippery slope...
I started with a '95 D90 SW a few years ago and ended up with the series truck.
Congrats: hope to see it soon: now you have to figure out a new way to hold that Engel :-)

David,

Yes I believe that I'm headed down that same path!
And yes the Engel does pose another challenge :-)

And Kim, I'm looking forward to it myself. For now I just have to enjoy the memories and the pics that I took of her....LOL
