I recently installed a new bottom hose on my D110, and since the 110 has no drain plug for the cooling system I took the opportunity to also drain and flush the system as well. Before removing the hose, I added two small containers of radiator flush solution and then ran the engine for about 30 minutes. When I removed the bottom hose, I was able to drain out about 1/2+ of the solution in the system, even going so far as to blow water back through hoses and out other holes to flush as much as I could. Problem is, when I reinstalled the new hose and refilled, it became apparent that there was at least a gallon of coolant (and some flush as well I assume) still in the system.

If I didn't get it all, is it bad for the cooling system for it to be circulating around like that still??

Any suggestions on how to FULLY flush the system on a Defender?

Thanks!

Stick a hose in the top and flush it that way.

I would not leave flush in there
