Hey Doug - I like the external jerry can racks you have on your 110. Did you fab them yourself? Anything I should know if I try to do it myself? Thanks! Jon

Hi, Jon. I studied this a lot. Made them myself. I bought 6 can holders from British Pacific and bolted them together. Then I purchased a couple of 4 foot galvanized L-shaped bars for each side, the bottom set larger with pre-drilled holes (kind of like shelving metal) and the top set just 1/2" or 3/4" wide/deep. I bolted the bottom ones onto the bottom of the jerry can holders, which then really simply bolts into the nuts that hold the roll cage together. The top set is placed between the roll cage and the window, and secured with pipe hangers to the cage. The top of the jerry can holders literally rest against the top bars. They have a security plastic cable tie placed loosely around both the holders and the bars, but the whole thing is snugged up with no-hook rachet straps around the cans when they are inside the holders (I removed the security straps from the top of the holders, btw). This whole thing is set up so I can loosen the rachet straps and lean the whole rig out from the roll cage to the extent of the cable ties, so that I can fill up the tanks in position without the roll cage getting in the way!! Yikes -- did I say I thought this out???? lol. This whole set up lets me recess the cans into the roll cage. All but the top 4 foot bars can be removed and replaced in about 10 minutes by clipping the cable tie and undoing the two roll cage bolts that hold the bottom bracket. I can take photos if you like when I get the truck back from the shop (I blew an oil line and had a small engine fire -- what a friggin mess that is! Allstate is paying.), in a few weeks. Email me if you want pics. Doug |

Doug - thanks for the info. So the 3 BP jerry can holders will fit into the cage nicely? That's good to know. If you have any more pics of your setup I'd like to see it. you can email me pugsly-at-bechange.com. I'd heard about your oil fire - tough break, hope the damage was not too bad. Any difficulty getting Allstate to pay? Kevin - nice job recognizing the location of the photo, one of my favorite areas. Take care, Jon |

Allstate is being totally cooperative. It's just going to take some time. I don't have the truck right now, nor are the cans mounted on it. When I get it back I'll take some photos for you. Probably won't get the 110 in time for the NVTR, so we'll be running my oldest sons LWB and brother Adam's 90. More later, Doug |
