I was looking at the BEarmach stuff Dap carries. Anyone have any pros or cons on their stuff? I like the simplicity of the winch bar they have, as well as the price as opposed to getting an ARB. I also like their steering guard. Comments? |

I had one and got rid of it -- it's not as strong as the ARB... or Rockware, etc. --- just depends on your use- no experience with the steering guard- Troy |

Thanks Troy. Can you give me any more specifics on the bumper? Meaning, why you chose not to use it anymore, etc. |

I pulled up the bumper on the DAPs website and it is different from the one I had. However, the approach angle is awful ... especially compared to what's available now. Also, the bumper appears to be bent/welded plate steel as opposed to a generally stronger boxed steel design. That said, your type of wheeling may not require steep approach angles or a "bombproof" bumper, so it may work for you. The Bearmach bull/brush bar I had was ok, but was visually weaker than the ARB I used to run (& have now sold) or the Rockware. FWIW, (not trying to necessarily plug something I'm selling ... just offering an option) if you're interested, there's a possibility I may be selling a custom winch bumper I had built at a good price. Email me off-list if you're interested... Troy |
