Don't buy the Lowes shackles as these are considerably weaker than what you will find at other other stores. I think there was a 3/4 T capacity difference between what Lowes offered compared to other alternatives of the same size. I picked mine up a local hardware store that caters to contractors.

thats not 3/4 ton, thats 3/4" diameter shackel

flip it over , it should be like 6.5 tonn working capacity.

garrett, you have a Quality farm and fleet or an agway up there? they'll have em

LOL. I was talking about the difference in capacity of two different shackles not the size of the shackle! At the time I was comparing the shackle I had at home which is 16mm thick and has a capacity of 4-1/2T and the Lowes 5/8" shackle with considerable less capacity.

Thanks for the schooling Rob :)

northern tool will have them, also 4x4 connection was a vendor last year so just give them a call. they usually have their booth ready pretty early in the morning and their prices are fair.
