Bugatti is using the same volkswagen engine for their new car as well.. I like the looks of the Bentley better though.. Not like I will ever be able to afford one anyways.. Hmmm, two kiddneys, liver, and a lung.. Damn, still not enough money..

Yea.. I heard the 623 was just a down tunned version.. I have been told that it can put out 1000+... Of course whether that is right or not I don't know...

Anyone know the 0-60? I looked a few months ago (again) and couldn't find anything. My guess is 3 secs.

Someone once told me that a slow motorcycle (crotch rocket type)is still faster than the fastest car...well, not any more.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 03:47 pm: Edit

I think that hardest part about driving one of those cars would be to keep the tires from burning out every time you so much as got near the gas.. Oh, that and trying to judge what is around that bend in the beltway at 252mph.. Wouldn't have to worry about getting a ticket though.. Just don't stop.. They aren't going to chase after you at that speed.. Well unless they got a good plane..

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Dean Brown (Deanbrown3d) on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 03:50 pm: Edit

Yeah, even the fuckin helicopter couldn't catch you. (But a road block could!) But hey, if you could afford one of these, you could buy your way out of anything anyway.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Bluegill (Bluegill) on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 03:58 pm: Edit

fastest car still can't outrun a radio :(

that Bugatti is a little more than absurd. If it does 186mph in 14 seconds, it probably does a quarter mile in about 5 seconds at well over 100mph...and this ain't no garage-built drag racer.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Eric N (Grnrvr) on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 03:58 pm: Edit

Road block could but, it would be hard to do given the fact that they would have to get in front of you and hope that you don't turn off at the first exit ramp you come to.. 252 miles an hour is some distance over a 10 minute time span. I'm thinking they would just find out what kind of car it was and then come see you at home later..

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Bluegill (Bluegill) on Wednesday, November 14, 2001 - 04:15 pm: Edit

252 mph = 4.2 miles per minute = 42 miles in 10 minutes!!! Damn. What's really key is the all-out acceleration. (How many roads can you sustain 252 mph on?)

A buddy of mine in grad school had a police scanner. One night we were sittin around and we heard, start to finish, the local cops chasing a crotch rocket. We were rollin on the floor listening to the cops screaming "He's headed west on I-90" "No, now he's headed east on I-90" "Aw shit, he exited again, now he's headed north on whatever" "No, he just flew by me at 120 mph headed west again on I-90" "Shit, he turned around in the median, now he's headed east again" They eventually gave up. Funny shit, man.

Had a state trooper tell me once that he was doing radar on 395 when a 911 and a vette went by him racing each other at 160.. He reset his gun and didn't even try to go after them.. He said that by the time he got turned around and started trying to catch up they would be long gone.. You could probably do 252 around here on some of the highways but, man, one pothole and you are a dead man.. Bet that thing would be air born hitting a dimple in the street at 250.. Fastest I have ever been was 170 or so for a couple seconds on a friends bike and I had to scrape the crapp out of my pants for hours after that..

2001 Corvette 174mph
1999 ZX9R MUZZY 191mph

One of my dad's friends has this sweet 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo. He thought that it wasn't fast enough, so he sent it to RUF. They put a 580hp engine in it, triple plated racing clutch, GT2 front bumper, European spec suspension and a lot of other things. It has a top speed of 221mph. It will do 60 in 2.9sec with street tires! Damn nice car.

The dude who drives the car is one strange guy. He spends all of his money on cars and entertainment systems. This is the list of cars that he has had in the past 1.5 years:
1999 GMC Denali(500hp Stillen supercharged,sold)
2000 Mercedes-Benz ML55 AMG(sold, traded it in for an S500 which he sold 1 month later)
1999 Toyota Land Cruiser(still has this one,for his wife)
2000 BMW M-roadster(stock, sold 3 months later)
2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 cab.(some modifications, sold 6 months later)
2000 Porsche Boxster S(with a 911 GEMBALA engine, sold last week)
2001 Porsche 911 Turbo(still has this one)
2000 Toyota Tundra(uses it to drive to work!)

He lives in TX. I think European Car magazine will have his Turbo as their cover story sometime. Sports Car magazine had his boxster as their cover a couple of months ago.

Cars are quick and nimble if they are the Bugatti, but a crotch rocket will smoke anything on the road, especially the cops...power to weight ratio is what it's all about. I've got a ZX-9R bored to 1000cc that makes 160hp at the rear wheel. It will accelerate 0-60, faster than 3.0 seconds and with a sprocket change will do well over 200mph if that's your fancy...

Brian

Brian, mine was stock with MUZZY single sided swing arm and did the top speed at 191.
With what u did to yours, your looking at lest 220
with gears, all this accomplished in 5th gear and 6th still waiting. Must extend the frame at least 6" and steering dampner.

NICE BIKE send pictures if u can.

I was cruising down the turnpike at a leisurely 200mph, when this guy comes racing up, flashing his headlights, and passes me at about 230. So, I step on the gas, turn on the nitro, and he's gone again. The rest of my 12 second drive to work was pretty lame though
Yeah, sounds like my kinda commute.

Sweet Bike Brian,

The motorized plate flip is cool, the bike can do low 9'in 1/4 mile, bigger tire and extended swingarm can get you there saftly. Your bikes HP is probably more than the DISCO'S wheel HP.
Check out muzzys.com when you get a chance.

Those pics were with my burn-out tire, a Metz 1.

I run D207s usually. I never really drag that bike, that's for flying down the road and wheelying past Harley and Buells. For the drag, I'd take this bike...it's a juiced Yamaha/Kirker FZ700 with a long-ass swing arm, and more rake than the Kawi...
