Last night, I get home just as it's getting dark... I'm in kind of a hurry, since I wanted to get the slave cylinder pulled off my Series before it was too dark to see. My daughter was home, looking kind of bored since she didn't go to the grocery store with her mom. So I asked if she wanted to help.....

One day, a future boyfriend is gonna thank me....

You should have seen the look on Mom's face when she got home from the store....

Yes, she really did it... I handed her the ratchet and socket, and talked her through it, but she really did it... had grease up past her elbows before she was done....

I'm a proud pop... :)

Leslie, you're an enabler! LOL! I caught your picture title, and I think you should change it to, "I don't NEED no stinkin' boyfriend!"

Karen :)

No, she doesn't NEED a boyfriend, but she'll have one, and she'll be able to tell him how to change the oil in his own car!

:)

leslie-

that's awesome - if i were 27 years younger, she'd be in trouble! but then again, most likely i'd be too shy to say anything anyway.

Actually, I've got another photo where she REALLY has the "I've got rust in my eye" look... you can actually see the bit of rust that DID end up in her eye... OUCH!!! She successfully blinked and got it out, and kept wrenching away... Wow, I would have been bitchin', myself....

She's one tough little cookie....

Dean,
A PTO would probably weigh more than her! If ya don't know what that black stuff is, well, how much of it do ya want me to package up and send it to ya??

Chris,
VERY likely.... think she might be eligible for an honorary membership already??

David,
Actually, when she went to go change she wanted to put on a Land Rover shirt so she could work in it, but I pointed out that it may very well come back in an unwearable state, so she picked a shirt that she didn't want her mom to make her wear anymore... Ya know, she's not slow on the uptake by any stretch...

Leslie, no problem. Feel free to send in any pictures of her with the rover over to rovergirls@gotmud.org and we will make a gallery for her.

Chris,

I'll gather up some pics for ya...

Phillip,

The geometry on a Series doesn't work well for moving the spring to the top side of the axle...

It IS possible, but not easy. And, what are you gaining? 7.5x16 tires fit as-stock, and if you're running with the stock 2.25L engine and drivetrain you don't want to run bigger or you're gonna be gripin' about the performance. And, regearing really isn't an option, because you're already running 4.7 gears in the diffs.
