Not sure if I'm ready to leave Colorado, but I'll be moving to Oahu in 10-12 months. The limited off-road resources I have found over the web mention lift-laws frequently. I know some states enforce these laws more than others. Heck, CO says no lifts at all! ( yeah right). I plan on taking my beloved Rover to my grave with me, but am having some serious issues with lessening It's lift. After a few searches I found that HI limits the bumper heights of vehicles w/ GVWR of <4500lbs to 29" front and 22" rear. Vehicles with a GVWR of 4500 to 7100? lbs to 33" front and 22" rear
Anyone know how and when and by whom these measuremts are taken?
My front is Damn close from the bottom center of the RTE slimline, and the rear is almost a foot too tall.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated!
Craig
Also- Anyone know of some local clubs I might contact?

I know there is/was a Series club out there. Try contacting Peter Hope on the LR Series mail list,

lro@koan.team.net

There are plenty of places to go off road. Two good things. #1) Lots of mud and rain to play in without being cold and #2) your mileage will be way down. You just can't drive that far to get anywhere.

I haven't been to Hawaii in a LONG time. Lived on Oahu from 1979~1983. Of all the places I have lived, that is the one I know I could go back to forever.

I have heard about the lift laws too. But some of the most outrageously (stupidly) lifted Chevy's and Ford's are in Hawaii. They have like 8 inches of lift and 40 inch Boggers.

Thanks guys-
I'll be visiting for a couple weeks in May to check things out. It's been about eight years since I visited, but I do remember seeing some big rigs.
Keeping my fingers crossed-
Craig
