John,

Great pictures from the AOA Fall 2001 rally. Many of us have shared how our rigs are set up. Being the "king" in this business, why don't you take a moment to break down the set on your Disco?

Ron Ward

p.s. Nice new rear door...I was there when you smashed the old one... 8->

I do not pretend or claim to be a "king" of this business...I just want to see what I learn and I do love the sport and mech. challenge. There are many trucks set up better than mine which really means nothing as we seek our own level with our truck.
Basically I have just my 3" susp kit on my truck w/1" spacers for a 4" lift. My front radius arms are extended 3/4" to accomodate the 285/75 tires for clearance inside the wheel wells. I also have my heim jointed rear links to do away with the frame ears. 12" Bilstein AK7112SB shocks 4 corners valved 360/80 for highway/offroad ride.SG rear bumper, Slimline front bumper w/a bar and skid plate. My S.S. track rod assembly and OME dampener. GBR HD axles front and rear, ARB lockers both axles and GBR 4.1 gears.Springs are SP-1 fr and RR-1 rear.Dual optimas and Warn hs9500i winch. Several "stealth" items, lol.
Its my daily driver and have driven to Canada, Vermont, Ga. and Tenn this past year. The new door is off a 98 with different wiring for the rear door amp so I have no sterio yet...damn.There are things in the works for my truck and as possible products as well. So little time...
Thanks for your interest and the fellowship shared by many in this Rover sport.

John,

Can you drop me a line when convenient. I sent along an email to RT last week or so regarding a 2" package.

Cheers,

Erik

For you guys who have not met John, he's the real deal. Stood around in the rain talking to folks at the MAR about this and that with veteran wheelers and newbies alike. I met him and decided on the spot to set myself up with the springs.

John, you ever want to sell that rig, call on me.

Ron W.

Ron I think the best you can do is buy stuff off of it. I already got the SG Bumper. Who knows maybe he's selling the rear bumper soon? If he does I would be intrested. (Hint hint, hint - John) We all know that he is perfectly capable of making a rear bumper that is better than a SG. John's the man!!! Hes the kind of guy thats already giving SG a run for their money.

John-
What are you using for front/upper shock mounts. Those 7100's have a spherical bearing at both ends don't they? Or can you get them with stud mounts?
Thanks-
Craig
