Favorite movie? Hmmm, don't know. But I am reading a new book titled Dangerous Beauty by Mark somethingorother. It's his real account of the murder and kidnapping of his safari group in the Congo back in 1999. Land Rover mentioned 3 times in first 40 pages (yes I am keeping a tally).

Red,

I heard that author interviewed on the radio a few months ago. As I recall they found a junked old Rover, hot-wired it and made their escape. He was a fascinating guy, you'll have to report back when you're done with the book.

Fav movie? This time of year it's definitely "Home for the Holidays"!

KJ and Oh Jeesh,

Psssst, the author lives... Seriously, I saw a Primetime Live (with Stone Phillips, I wish I had a name that cool) about the ordeal and it was pretty brutal, several murders, a couple fell out on the trail from exhaustion and the rest tramped out on their own. I'll keep the count going and see what the total is...

Jeesh,

Well DUH! If they didn't make it out, he would not have been able to write the book. Besides, it's quite a tale, with Rovers everywhere.

Karen :P

P.S. Red, is there a picture of this guy on the dust cover? He sounded like a studly dude alright....

Raising Arizona

Raising Arizona, yeah, that was a good one! Almost forgot about that one ... and then, can't forget National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (just pulled it out of the X mas box - we watch it every year on Christmas Eve) I've got to check out that book you're reading, Red, don't give too much away - sounds good (but will I get scared to go on "expeditions" hehehe??). Last book I read was Dreamland by Dale Brown - fun read if you like military and aerospace stuff (old 80's - 90's tech, but they used some of this stuff already in Afganistan).

On a Coen Brothers theme, my personal fav is "The Big Lebowski", but, that's just like, my opinion, man.....
