I'll be in San Diego July 17-19 for a corporate meeting and a little deep sea fishing. I'm thinking about driving the Disco out and making a weekend out of it instead of hopping on Southwest. My wife is headed to LA with the baby on Friday July 20 for the weekend, so I'm free (big deal for a young guy with a 7 month old :))! What's there to do as far as off-road and camping in the San Diego area? I'd love to hit the sand dunes in Yuma on the way there and back... Mucho apreciado...

Heres the Land Rover Club of San Diego:

Also, try Skid Plate Off Road. They are mostly out of San Diego and are a really nice bunch of people.

I would, if you're not able to hook up with anyone or even if you are, hit the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation. It's in Northern San Diego County and has a wide variety of trails.

Bill,

The SPORT site looks to be down. They also use the following Yahoo Club House:

got it - thanks again, Jeff. Now I just have to decide if I want to drive out and make a week out of it or not...hard decision since a long weekend in MOAB is also running through my mind.....:)

San Diego? You gotta go to Anza Borrego - plenty of good wheeling, camping and exploring to be done out there. Info is available at the visitor center in Borrego Springs.

Thanks to all for the San Diego info - it's on file with all my other trail info. I enjoyed your city's weather, fishing, and beer Tuesday and yesterday, but I unfortunately had to be in my Phx office for meetings today. Therefore, no weekend in San Diego this time. I'll be back, however - didn't catch enough albacore this time, and I didn't get to see Anza Borrego :)

Butch, Jeff, Carol, Severin, John Lee, & everyone else - same goes for you if you're ever in Phx - drop me a line...

Phoenix is in the future. Got to drop by and let the grandparents see their grandson...

We'll probably wait until the fall. They like to visit us in the summer to escape the heat.
