I just got a 1999 Disco, and would like to see what this thing can do(nothing crazy though). I never offroad before, so I'm looking for some beginner trails or someone who know what they are doing.

Tom, I am with the Southern Land Rover Society, based out of Atlanta. We have monthly meetings and trail rides (varying difficulty). We also have a few large events each year. We actually have one coming up in Sept. that would be a great time to check out everything. Look on the events page on this site for the 8th annual SAE event, September 14-16.
This event is a 3 day offroading weekend with a raffle, auction, catered supper, and ALOT of trails for novice, intermediate, and hardcore offroaders. We also have instructors for the novice trails. This would be a great time to learn to offroad and see the hardcore guys taking Rovers where you wouldn't think they would go(or should go). This event is the largest Rover event in the deep south and we are expecting a great turnout this year.
For all the details of the event, as well as registration info, check out our website at:

Go to the events calendar page, then click on the 8th annual SAE.
Thanks, and come join us for a great weekend.
Norman
