DONE. Great news. Ho, when you get a moment could you please give me a little more information on Trcukhaven... I do not know anything about this place. Thanks Jose

Jose,
Definitely try to join us for Truckhaven.
Truckhaven is located near Indio, east of Palm Springs. It's a wasteland with lots of steep, off-camber, and twisty areas. It's also a free fire zone, and you can shoot guns there.
It's a really fun place.

Free fire zone?... that makes it even more interesting. Can you fire hunting rifles and hand guns too? If so, is there anything I should know when transporting fire arms to this location ( such as permits, etc).?

Jose,
You can fire anything there you want so long as it's legal. You can't go firing RPG's and other destructive devices, but pretty much every handgun, rifle, and shotgun is all right.
When the last Iron Chef thread was going on, we had pretty much decided upon rifles and pistols for this upcoming trip. Primary targets will likely be empty aluminum cans and abandoned vehicles. Disco's and D90's are not in season right now.
I don't think any special transportation permits are required so long as you are not entering special parks or crossing state borders, etc. Of course you should transport your weapons unloaded, and with the weapon and magazines and ammunition all separate. Also, you gun cases should be locked. If you want to be sure, you should check with your local sheriff or police station, who usually have DOJ pamphlets available with the California firearms regs in plain English.
