I am looking for some cool trails in Pennsylvania. Apart from Paragon, I am not so familiar with the state, although I live in NJ. If you know any trails, please give a brief description.

Thanks a bunch,
Dean

Robensonia Trials course:

a large hole in the ground (former quarry) with rocks and mud with trees all around in which you are exspected to drive up and down passing through sticks without touching them nor touching the trees.

Ron

Note: Very large hill at one end :) believed to be driveable :)

not sure if the trials course is part of the area in Hazelton or not, but i have heard good things about that area from a few people that have some pretty impressive FJ40's.

black moshanon (not far from state college) has some good trails too, but many of them are off limits and getting caught will not make nice with the local park rangers. some trails i have been told are open for anyone.

will hopefully be heading to the hazelton area soon.

drop me a line if you are ever up for it.

i live in central PA and would drive to meet up with ya. as i am sure MTB and a few others on this board would i think.

Ron,

Is the Robesonia trials course open at any time if you just drive up? Thought it was on private property? Or is this just the next phase in you and Dean's challenge?

I'm good to go anytime after mid-Oct between working around the house, wedding & putting on RT toys on I'll be busy. Just got my RT sliders today hoping to find time this weekend to put them on.:):):). I do want to head to Paragon though and check that out.

Thought it was on private property?

It is. Dean does not want to go up the hill. There will be an event again Novemberish adn "work" days prior if anyone wishes to help (ie run the course and adjust it).

Ron - LOL.

Are there any details about this event?

Yes, this may be an upcoming trail. If anyone has been there and wants to arrange a trip, I'd certainly be in for it.

Ron, is that hill the one I read about in the newsletter? Suicide something-or-other?

Suicide something-or-other?

No thats the small one and they went down that one (next event it will be mount everest as the course will be run backwards). The big one is not part of the actual course.

Cheers

guessing you are talking about the ROVERS picnic. i don't think i will be able to make that one. if you see Evan there in a rough IIA tell him i said howdy. i am planning on making it to MAR though.

i will post on this site if and when i can get a gather of folks for any trail time fun in PA.

Evan was down two cylinders last anyone heard from him. I am sure he will be offended you called the IIa rough though, :) It did win the trials event :)

Electrical I think was the problem, he should have it sorted. If I see him at the picnic I will tell him you said hi.

Cheers

Yeah Kyle, I've noticed that too. Suicide or Undertaker, they always seem to be given names related to death. But then I guess something like Walk-In-The-Park would be misleading. Maybe they're given names like that to keep the unprepared from trying them, although I think an ego-type thing could result in the opposite effect. BTW, I've enjoyed your repartee with the guy challenging you to one individual hill climb.

yeah. the stationary contacts on the points were loose on his immaculate IIA :). he's got a leaky radiator now, but doesn't sound like anything he can't take care of in a few hours at most. just got an email from him. he was not a happy camper and ended up driving his moms car to the air show. :( hopefully i will see him, as well as you, at MAR.

and rob i will let you know when we get something together.
