Cool. narrows it down to one state. FINALLY. I thought it might be in carolina mountains or Wva. Couldn't figure it out. Thanks! Any more info would be cool too! I'm in Virginia, during the school year in Farmville and during breaks, christmas, summer, etc. I'm in the DC Nova area.

Wait a second Kyle, isn't that YOUR truck in the Caspairus 2 pics? WATROAD, right? Hmmm...the mystery deepens...

That's the other Kyle.
I asked about the caves a while back and I got a "if I told you I'd have to shot you..." kinda answer...
Good luck.

The Cave is near ************, PA. In fact you can take *** Street til it ends in *********** and that starts a trail on PA Game Land. There are tons of trails, some are legal some not so be sure to check with PA Game *before* you go.
The Cave itself is private property so if you go and get a ticket (happens quite often), don't complain.

I live in Cleveland, but have been to the Cave a few times (3 hr ride for me). I am apprehensive about going back due to problems w/ PA Game and getting definitive answers from them on which trails are open when.

I don't own a Rover either:-) but am considering one.

Rob, it seems to me that Joe is not a Disco owner and he is in Ohio. I am correct Joe?
Ok, so who's gonna get rid of Cartner now that he knows where the caves are? hehehe

Oops, I was too slow.
By Rob Davison (Pokerob) on Thursday, December 06, 2001 - 01:41 pm: Edit |
yes, now you see why i am hesitant to pass out directions.
a lot of hillbillies up there tearing it up in quads.

nice toy btw. what rover you thinking about getting ?
By Rob Davison (Pokerob) on Thursday, December 06, 2001 - 01:44 pm: Edit |
john, i never told you where they were, but i did tell you and shane i would take you there.
frankly it's pretty inovled to get to the good trails and might take you a few days to stumble on to them.

Rob, didn't mean to pass out "directions". I've been over there and gone out of ************ and never hit the Cave, we got so lost. Part of the fun, I suppose. We also got tickets from PA Game once *after* being told by Officers that trails were open.
I am considering a Discovery Series I. I've been reading ths site almost non-stop since I found it.
Do you know of other trails in the area? Do you ever go to Wellsville?
By John_C on Thursday, December 06, 2001 - 02:07 pm: Edit |
Rob, I understand. Maybe one day I'll take you up on your offer. I agree with you on passing out directions over the net.
We still have to get rid of Cartner!!!!
By Rob Davison (Pokerob) on Thursday, December 06, 2001 - 02:20 pm: Edit |

Rob,
If you're interested in seeing Wellsville, I'd be happy to lead a group there. It's about an hour from Pittsburgh, right on Rt 7. No scenery, it's trashed land that was strip mines, but there are great trails all over.
This time of year is great due to the lack of buggies, ATV's, and motorcycles.
I think I am going to go next Saturday 12/15.
By Rob Davison (Pokerob) on Thursday, December 06, 2001 - 05:09 pm: Edit |
let me see what is going on. maybe we'll find out if a disco can keep up with your trick toyota.
maybe you'll like it you can buy one.

Wow, I had no idea how taboo it was to post any info at all!
Rob, there is no "keeping up" to be done - we wheel to have fun, not as a competition. We ordinarily run trails that are suitable for all 4WD vehicles and skill levels, there are some optional obstacles for those brave enough. I think on this 12/15 trip though we are going to run some hard trails, so stockers/newbies may want to pass on this one.

Do you think its possible to do a wiggedy whack cave attack in the next couple weeks? I SO want to see this thing...looks insanely cool. I was like "dude, they drive INTO the cave" when I saw the pictures. Unreal. I want in on that action.
By Axel Haakonsen (Axel) on Thursday, December 06, 2001 - 07:46 pm: Edit |
Joe, it's not always taboo, but since your post stated that the trails may not be legal, it probably wasn't a good idea to leave the post intact, ya dig?
By Joe on Thursday, December 06, 2001 - 08:24 pm: Edit |
"Joe, it's not always taboo, but since your post stated that the trails may not be legal, it probably wasn't a good idea to leave the post intact, ya dig?"
Understood.
I am not trying to make trouble. The trails are all on public/state game land as I understand it, it's just that PA Game closes trails for hunting or for weather reasons and it's hard to know which ones are open at any time.
So you know, The Cave itself is private property. Entering it is trespassing.

I'd be interested, let me know via email if there is any plan. Dean
