Need some advice on what might cause this. My '97 Disco is having problems with the fuel mix and I need to eliminate some parts that could be causing this. Would this be more of an Air Flow Meter, throttle position sensor, or possibly oxygen sensors.... Maybe stepper motor? I don't know where to start. Please help.

White smoke out of the tailpipe or out of the oil filler tube when you remove the filler cap after the engine has been running? Thick white smoke out of the filler tube is usually a sign of head gasket problems, but there is usually a thin vapor that accumulates from condensation burning out of the oil. White smoke out of the tailpipe could be anything - exhaust gas vapor on a cool morning, burning oil, etc. Maybe a little more help if I knew where the smoke was coming from and how thick, etc.

Out of tailpipe and it's loosing power. Cloudy smoke that seems like the engine is running lean.

Head gaskets. The white smoke comes from your engine burning antifreeze and oil that's leaking into the cylinders. This of course results in a loss of power (mostly from loss of compression) and would generate the "lean" condition you experience. That's the best news. A cracked block can also cause these conditions, but you probably don't want to hear that...

Smoke seems to be all of the time... more so when it starts.
