I have been noticing about once a week that I have a fluid leak in my left rear wheel. The fluid runs down from the inside of the wheel, down the inside portion of the tire and usually leaves a small puddle about 3-4" diameter.

The first thing I have checked is the brake fluid but it is never low.

Today I parked on an incline (so that the left side of the truck was lower than the right side) and left if for about 6 hours and came back to find a much larger puddle, about 8x16". Anyone have any ideas, besides taking it to the dealer of course.

The only other thing I can think of is that about a month before this started happening, that same wheel sounded as though the brake caliper was hanging up on it. It would grind, sometimes quite badly, and then it seemed to break loose for a while. I took it to a dealer and they checked the brake and wheel out and found no problem, however, I developed this leak problem shortly after taking it to the dealer...but at least the grinding has stopped completely.

Any help and advice would be appreciated, I am fairly new to LR's.

Possibly the seal at the end of the axle need to be replaced.

I've ran into that one... check your gear lube in the axle as stated above!

You should be able to tell right away since gear lube is very thick compared to brake fluid.
