I'm haveing the same problem that JEEPETR had with his 96' disco (search for "start"). I had this problem about 1.5 months ago and replaced the fuel pump and filter and things were fine for awhile. Now, I 'm getting the same problem, The truck starts then dies for a few times then, It just won't start at all and the relays in the pass kick panel just click. I'm am not getting any noise from the fuel pump and dont hear it doing the pre-pressureize run when the key is on. Please help! I really need to get it running.

Thanks
ScottB

make sure your fuel cut-off switch is disengaged fully. it is located on the fire wall behind the engine.

What is with this fuel disenaged bull... it seems that everyone is just repeating what everyone else is saying. I also read the reply to JEEPETR's problem, and everyone keep suggesting the fuel cutoff, this does not engage unless you are in a head-on accident. Please keep Tech information to actual event of relation, but not speculation. Fuel disenage switch if it is activated, it will cut fuel all the time, not sometimes, like what is describle.

Sorry for the bandwidth

I had the exact same problem, relays behind glovebox were clicking away, but this happended when I took a deep nose dive in a water hole, water flooded cowling and soaked the relays. I opened the kickpanel and let the area dry in the Fla heat. The switch that everyone seems to want to blame for fuel cut-off is the inertia switch and this will go-off if you land hard over bumps.
That is not your problem since typical inertia switch symptoms are flashing emergency lights.
So, did you flood your vehicle? I would get underneath and use dielectric grease on the fittings to prevet moisture problems, if this is the origin of the clicking relays.
Good Luck...
BTW, look-up the topic "Diagnose This"

A more likely cause of the flashing emergency lights when you go over a bump, is that you are activating part of your alarm system. Mike Green of West Coast British tracked this down to low tolerances in some alarm modules, i.e. contacts were too close, and touched sometimes when going over bumps. This will in turn activate your emergency flashers, and has nothing to do with the Inertia switch. Shutting the car off will usually reset the alarm module.

There were some additional posts on lrx.com regarding this a while back.
