I am changing the oil in my gearbox this weekend.

1) How much oil should I buy (80w90)?

2) I know I need a 1/2" breaker bar for the differentials, but what else do I need to take off the gerabox's fill/drain plugs.

3) I was reading the disco's manual and read something about putting the Diff Lock on before jacking. Whay is this the case and is it necessary?

Make sure you can remove the fill plug first.

Provided you aren't huge, you shouldn't have to jack the car up to get at the transfer case. Just use a 1/2" breaker bar or ratchet to open the fill plug and I think a 17mm wrench / socket for the drain plug.

Jorge!
You'll need to jack your vehicle some other day for another job, so question of diff-lock is important.
When applying your difflock, you enable the truck to brake (through the transmission) on the wheels on the ground.
