well, i am assuming that this happens when it is shut (i know...i know...'duh')...
well, does the door "fall down a bit" when you open it?...if yes, then the hinges on the right side must have worked loose or something, and this is normal, all you need to so is retighten them, put some locktight, and that's that...
i have a '92, so there was nothing on the door (electrical stuff and things like that) make sure that they are fixed and not suffling around...
i am sure this didn't help, but i hope ti did!

I had the same problem with my 97.
Solved it very quickly using a screwdriver.
On the door frame near the door catch there is a metal plate attached by 4 screws. When the door closes a black plastic block of the same shape as the plate, fits into the plate providing lift for the door when closed. If this plate is not adjusted correctly the rear door will rattle in the door catch. Be careful when adjusting the plate. You only need to slacken the screws, not remove them. Be careful also that the angle is correct otherwise the plate will act as a plane/knife chopping bits out of the plastic striker.
Mine doesn't make a noise now.
I also had to adjust the striker posts on the other 4 door frames too becuase sometimes the doors would not close. These main doors use an allen key.
Antony.

tweak the wedge and catch plate like Antony said before you mess with the hinges

Also sometimes the rattle in the rear door lock rattling while it is up. When you are driving if you lock the doors and the sound reduces that is your problem.
