Has anyone else experienced this? Whenever I brake going over train tracks or a bump, I get a strong vibration in the brake pedal. Its almost like its trying to grip but can't. Only happens on bumps, potholes, steep hills etc but never on a smooth slowdown. Thanks in advance.

Yes. It's the ETC and ABS kicking in, I believe. I can say that it occurs much more than I would expect, in relation to the '98 Disco I had, and other cars I have driven. I believe it is caused by the interface of the ETC with the ABS, and so far, seems to be normal. I would say that the ETC is just a little too sensitive.

That's right. Perfectly normal. If you're braking at the time of "bump", you're feeling the ABS working. If you're accelerating, you're feeling the ETC. Same system programmed backwards. The vehicle is distributing braking power to ensure you're getting the most effective performance. Sorry it took 8K to notice this. Happens a lot in the dirt...
