What is the cheapest way to relocate my damper to the D90 location? SG is 70 bucks and that is way too much. Also why is it that the stock one can't be reused? I am looking cheap solutions, preferably homemade/napa/pep boys parts.
Thanks
Ron

70 bucks is cheap (well, maybe by comparison). I paid 100 for rockware. I have also noticed the the DII is already relocated. I wonder if those parts would work??

if you have the resources, you could fab your own "relocate kit" (just mounting hardware) and slap in a D90-sized OME dampner. That's what I plan on doing (just need the resources). Doesn't need to be pretty, just needs to work. Refer to Ho's "Steering Dampner Relocation Kit" write-up in the tech section for ideas. Anyone have specs out there that they're willing to share?

YEAH! Ron, make your own.
I know you can do it.
All it needs is a bunch of U bolts.

I have been working on a double dampner set up, in the D-90 location...
I would highly advise the use of loop to loop dampners instead of the D-90 loop to pin since the first ones allow for more movement.
I'll be using Pro Comp ES2000s for the thing...
The mounting system will be incorporated in my cutom bumper and the mount on the rod will be similer to the ones already out on the market...

Gday, steve from Oz.
I relocated my steering damper to the front rod 6 months ago. As i had recently bought a systems return to centre stabilizer which was configured pin-to-pin mount I fabbed up a mount to suit. The chassis rail mount was made from 10mm steel plate, havent got the measurements on me but I can go draw it up, it bolted through existing holes in the chassis rail. The rod mount was a right angled 5m plate with a 5mm backplate and four bolts clamping it to thw rod. It would have been nice to weld this to the rod but that would not allow adjustment of the tie rod ends. The only problem of going pin-to-pin is that the angle is quite severe with a 50mm lift, this can be reduced by lengthening the chassis mount, or better still configuring the mount to take a pin-to-eye mount damper witht he eye end at the chassis rail. How do I post some drawings and measurements of the mounts?

Steve,
I think the way that works is that you write it up in a word document or email and send the pictures into Discoweb. The kind folks will make a web page out of it and put it in the tech section. Mail it to [email protected]

Thanks Steve,
Just what I was looking for . . . now if I only understood the metric system lol.
