I own a 1995 Discovery and I want to get some new rims on it. At first I wanted to get the wheel centers painted black, but I did not realize that it costs $100-$150 per wheel! I could buy new wheels with that money! I was wondering if anybody has any information on any aftermarket wheels available for the Discovery? If you do have info on Disco wheels, please include the price and manufacturer's number.
Also...NO CHROME!

Are you looking for off-road rims, or just something pretty?

If off-road, Rovers North has black steel vented rims for under $100 each.

Other than that, some old RRs came with some dark colored rims, I believe they would fit a 95 Disco, someone correct me if I am wrong.

If you want wheels which have a different offset from stock (4.25"), meaning that it pushes the wheels further away from the car, leading to a much tighter turning radius and more stability, go with the American Racing 15" ($55) or 16" ($68) rims.

Your best resource for these is http://www.gulfcoastrovers.com. They have the best prices and are really nice people. RoverAccessories also has them in 16", but they cost $75 last time I checked.

If you want to keep the same offset as stock (about 5.3") then http://www.atlanticbritish.com has black steel NATO 16x7 wheels for $99.95 each or $349.95 for a set of five.

I have both the 15x7 (off road w/mud tires) and the 16x7 (on road with AT's) from Gulf Coast Rovers. I love them! My truck u-turns like a VW beatle!

Finally, if you buy steel wheels, remember that you also need different lugs than you had on you alloys. Atlantic British has a set of 20 for $29.95 - the best price I have seen.

Good luck, and email if you have any other questions.

Tom
