Today I test drove a Disco SE at my local dealer and completely fell in love with the truck. I asked him about modifications to the suspension/axles/driveline and he said those things will void the factory warranty. However, he said new bumpers/skidplates are ok as far as the warranty goes. So, here are my questions...how have you guys trimmed or removed your front spoilers? It looks as if some of you have actually trimmed the plastic, and some have completely removed the spoiler/bumper. Unbolting it should be straightforward enough, but what about trimming? Thanks for the info. Any advice is welcome!

The center part of the spoiler comes off in one piece. The end caps need to be cut. Instead of cutting mine, I bought a pair for $25 from someone who had already cut theirs, but was now installing an ARB.

On the "for sale" page you will frequently see used end caps for sale. However, if you don't see any for sale or don't want to wait, they aren't expensive to replace from various parts houses if you do decide you want to go back to stock.

Cut the ones you have. The end caps cut easily with a dremil. Just follow the natural lines already there.

How much do the end caps cost on average? I have a 2000 SD and wanted to do the bumber cut like Greg Davis on disco2.com but didnt know it was 2 pieces.

I think the first response to this question assumed that you have a Disco 1 whereas I suspect that you have a Disco II. The bumper setups are very different. There are no bumper end caps on a Disco II. I'll defer to a Disco II owner to give you more specifics.

LoL,
Mike

You're right. Didn't cross my mind until after I hit the Post this Message button. I guess we'll all have to be a bit more specific in questions and answers. I've never even looked at a DII except in passing.

If you have a discoII best thing is to fit the factory "saudi" bumper, I did and am quite pleased

Bert, you don't happen to know where I can see a pic of that bumper, do you? Thanks!

Yeah I would like to see the bumper and where might one procure one if one likes?
