Anyone with a stock set up out there that can help me?

I am wondering if anyone with stock size tires can provide me these RPM numbers.

Cruising at 60-70 MPH and in four low going up hill, preferably off road?

I am thinking about a new cam and I don't remember what the stock RPM ranges were like.

I saw a while back that a few of you have had a new cam put in, what cam did you go with and what would you suggest. I am looking at a Crane Cam 2400-2800 RPM range. Also, one of you said you replaced the chip at the same time, did that make a big difference and what else does the chip control besides shift rpms?

Any input appreciated.

That would be a decent range. But 60-70 mph cruising is between 2250 and 2500, pretty much. I think 70 is actually about 2600 and 60 seems to be maybe 2200... those are taken with a GPS-calibrated speedo :-) I don't remember many of my off-road speed ranges, since I have the automatic, it goes between 2000 and 3000, at times.

Jeff,

Have you tried getting some information about these types of performance mods from d-90.com and/or the d90 forum on Yahoo groups?

I think I have seen what you are trying to do discussed there. It may be on Defenders, but a lot of the info will transfer.

Tom
