I need to replace the right hand Rocker Cover Gasket for my '94 Discovery (66k miles). The dealer sold me the gasket (p/n LVC100260) which is made of rubber (~1/4 in thk) with one side has a flat surface and other side groved (supposely an improvement to the original). The original gasket is thin and the manual shows to be applied with Bostik 1775 adhesive. I would like to know if an adhesive is required for the new gasket? which side is up (flat or groved)? and does the torque required to tighten the bolts remain the same as for the original gasket (9 Nm)or is it different? If different, what is it?
