Can anyone direct me to a photo in the gallery of examples on where and how to mount my hi lift jack?
Is the back of the vehicle the best place? How do you do it?
I have no roof rack, or bush bar, and I'd like to keep it on the outside of the vehicle....

I just sent my procedure into Ho. I am sure he will post it soon. If you have an adventure rack it is quite easy.

You could pick up or fabricate a mount on the spare tire carrier.

Here's the $G design. It wouldn't take much to make your own either...

i mounted mine on the bottom of the OEM Dog Guard. That way it stays inside which is good for 2 reasons, A) it doesnt rust, and B) no little bastards can make off with it when im not lookin. Some may say the Dog Guard is not strong enough to hold it, but if you mount it low enough, the weight distributes well and its works perfectly.

Just save yourself the trouble of moving it later and don't put it on the side of the rack.Gets caught on everything you pass (trees, jeeps, overhangs)

I designed it so it was as close as possible to the rails on the side, unlike the aftermarket ones. Originally I was going to put it on the back but that idea would have interfered with the rear light. Nothing is perfect, but it is mounted firmly enough I don't think it will be a problem.

Update:

The rear plate on the hilift (which we should have taken off) successfull withstood hitting a tree and then the carefull but ineffective measure of driving forward to try to pull the tree down. The mount held up fine. It slipped back on the roof rack a bit but no damage was sustained and the hilift stayed attached. I wish I had my camera, the tree (~6in in diameter) was bent back a foot or so at least.

PS Ho, I don't see a link for the instructions/pics of it in the tech section.
