Will a 4.0 short block be a hard conversion in my 1995 Disco?? I have the engine what kind of other costs would I need to consider of course labor.

If you're going to replace the motor, you might as well go for a 4.6 which is a lot more powerful -- uses the same heads as the 3.9 and the 4.0 and bolts right in where the 3.9 came out. Like the 4.0, the 4.6 has crossbolted crankshaft mains, which are a lot stronger than the 3.9. The 3.9 and the 4.0 have the exact same displacement (3950cc) so you won't gain any power with a 4.0.

I replaced my 3.9 with an RPi 4.6 in my '95 Disc. and have been quite happy with it. With the Tornado chip, you can retain your 14CUX ECU and fuel injection. Wish my '95 Disc. had had this motor to begin with!!!

What is cost for the 4.6 from RPI plus shipping? Did you do the job yourself? If not, how much did your mech. charges you? Thanks
