I have a 96 SE7 with the dual factory sunroofs. a couple of months ago the rear sunroof just stopped working. neither switch does anything. it doesn't make any noise or move at all. any help would be great. I cant seem to find anything obviously wrong. thanks.

You have the rear roof defeat button in the right position (I know its a dumb question but it happens) :)

Sounds like the rear sunroof motor died.. But, I could be wrong.

I have a 97 SE7 and had the same problem. At first, I thought the defeat switch was in the wrong position, but nothing happened when I changed it and tried to open it.
There is a allen bolt under a small cover right in front of the sunroof. I opened the cover and then manually opened the sunroof and lightly lubed the tracks. Then the sunroof seemed to work fine, although sometime it still sticks if not used for a while. If that doesn't work, a fuse might be the problem. I'm not sure if the rear and front sunroof are on the same circuit though. Maybe someone else knows.

i tried the allen bolt and it was completely frozen. i cant think how to get at the motor or the tracks. any ideas short of dismantling the entire interior?

If it's only been a couple of months, the allen bolt should be able to move. Maybe try using an allen wrench socket with a rachet to break it loose. I'm sure that if the motor is still ok, it's just cutting out.
