Did we ever establish whether the service engine light was suppossed to come on a 52K? Mine came on this weekend (52300), but the display is showing code 48 (stepper motor). Right now my truck isn't stalling, but the idle is rough. I'm going to replace the stepper, but do I also reset the code as now shown in the tech section?

wisker,

yep, at like 52500 or right around there your SERVICE engine light comes on.. I brought mine in and they just do some emmisions checks, and "top up your fluids".. Kind of funny, it wasn't too funny after it cost me $115 for some washer fluid..

Either way, it's not telling you anything is wrong, thats what the CHECK engine light does..

Hope that helps you out man..

Ben

yep, you gotta reset it, or wait for the bulb to burn out. it'll come on again at ~104k (every 52k)
