Why does it cost extra for Java Black paint?

i think java black was offered on the range rover, that's the only difference i can think of.

I think it is "Bulga" Black and the extra cost was due to some extra thick fancy clear coat.

I have a 95 d-90 with Beluga black that is still so shiny from the extra clear coat they use with it that it looks brand new.

Go to the int'l LR web site and you will see that it is offered on both Disco and RR. Also it is called "Java Black"...Dumb Ass

Beluga was up to 98ish and then it was Java. They cost more cause they are clearcoat. ON the 4.6RR you don't have to pay more cause they figure for 60k+ they can clearcoat it for free.

just to clarify--
all black LandRover products are 300.00 more because there is more paint on a black Rover. black is hard to take care of and scratches show up more. LR puts more paint on these cars to ensure that buffing won't dull the paint.
