I have a 94 Disco auto with 228,000ks. The problem is I can not change from low to high gear or back with out switching the engine off. If I do force the lever it bangs into gear and sends a HUGE thump throow the t/case. I have tryed all gears and rolling the car forward and back. Nothing helps the problem has progressively wersened in the last six months. Also a thump is felt throow the t/case when decelerating, driveing around town, about 30-50ks. I'm not sure if this is related.
