I recently picked up a set of SG sliders very reasonably and have heard that they are a little week under full load. I was thinking of welding pieces of angle to them to bolt through the sills and make a box shape that would strenghten the sliders and protect the sills. I was curious if anyone had performed something like this and if any one has any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Look under "AB slider install" in tech section - I think this is what you want - very similar to what RTE provides with their sliders for added protection and strength.

if you are to add this extra piece would it not be better to weld it to the sliders to tie them together and create one solid piece. I would think would make a nicer unit that was much stonger.
