Nothing like a friendly bunch of Roverphiles. Just love that Rovering spirit that binds us all together. I hope this guy doesn't visit this thread.

hmmmmmmmmmmm is that wheel bent?
By Bud on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 - 02:30 pm: Edit |
Yuk, yuk, yuk. Actually, the original caption, that was supposed to accompany this picture on Disco2.com, was "Bud, negotiating one of many precipitous curbs with the majestic peaks of Joplin's Northpark Mall in the background". That was MY caption. The joke was ME making fun of myself by imitating the many pics of the rest of you jokers hanging out the window with YOUR front wheel suspended three feet over some crevice. But, I'll have you know, I actually did take "The Stealth" off the pavement the other day. Say, how do you get dirt and rocks out of the tire tread, anyway?
By Blue Gill (Bluegill) on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 - 02:52 pm: Edit |
Very funny caption from the man himself
To clear the tread, drive real fast on the highway and pull in front of some Japanese econobox going 54 in the passing lane!

Bud,
Since you live in Joplin, MO, you should check out www.flatlandroversociety.com. We will be hosting the Adventure Team Challenge starting next Monday. We also have other events throughout the year.
By Bud on Thursday, May 24, 2001 - 09:29 am: Edit |
Thanks, Bill. Actually, I'm in Neosho. I have looked your site on several occasions. Almost bought a Series from one of your members a few months back. I'd love to make it to one of the events, but the schedule is pretty tight. We will be up for, suprise, a soccer tourney the first weekend in June. I'll try to stay on top of your events and see if I can make it to one. Any good malls up your way?
By Bill Leek on Thursday, May 24, 2001 - 03:18 pm: Edit |
Meetings are on the third Saturday of the month. Check the website for schedule.
Lots of rugged territory (malls) "in-country"; especially tough going when the wild animals (suburbanites) begin their weekly migrations (usually on Saturdays) toward their favorite watering (shopping) holes. Those steel wheels and large tires will come in handy for traversing the wilderness here.

Nobody ever asked you this, but I can't hold back any longer......
Who took the picture?
By Bud on Friday, May 25, 2001 - 02:08 pm: Edit |
My 13 yr old son.
