I bought the bull bar, but don't have a winch yet. First question, what winches work best with it? Second, how hard is it to add a winch once the bar is put on. It's hard just letting it sit there.

ARB bull bars are designed for warn planetary winches. I've seen people mount Superwinch x9s and Ramseys (with mods) in them as well. Not to open a can of worms, but, if I had to go with a planetary winch, I'd go with the Superwinch X9. It's a 9k pound winch with a stall rating of nearly 12k pounds. On the Warns, 9k is 9k. If you mount the bumper now, you'll have to pull the bumper back off to mount the winch.

If it is a new ARB non-airbag bar, then the Warn M12K is the only one that will bolt up straight with no extra kits/adapters/rigging, etc. 12K is heavy, but it does the job - right now about $875.00 (what I paid for mine)

It's the airbag model. Any mods needed to mount the X9?

I have an ARB airbag version with an X9, however if I were to do it over, I would consider the method posted in the tech section by Josh Weinstein, he had a fabricator/welder do some custom mods to the bumper with a really nice result. My winch is mounted upside down and behind the bumper. This makes it difficult to guide the cable back on the spool and exposes the winch to the elements more then I would like. Take a look at his idea, it is interesting. The pictures are a bit difficult to see but basically he cut a hole in the top and welded a plate to span the gap across the "crush cans" to which he bolted his winch. A much better solution, but a lot of work.
