Does anyone know how they "plug into" your system and set a new code for a new remote to open the remote door locks on a '97 Disco? I live about 70 miles away from the nearest dealer (San Jose,CA) and every time I call to get a quick appointment to have this done, usually a couple of days before I know I'll be heading up there, they tell me they don't have time. I always assumed it was fairly simple. Does it work out of the same system as the OBD II? Or is it totally separate?

I believe the dealer is the only one who can do that for you.
