Finally got some down time where one vehicle is OK for the two of us. Also got SWMBO to open the check book...

Put the Disco up on stands and threw on OME 761MD's up front and 762HD's in the rear and new OME shocks all around. Needed a spring compressor (rented for free at Kragen) for the front springs, but the rears dropped out. Sway bar stayed attached on both ends. Dropped one side of each axle at a time. Piece of cake.

I was surprised by how bad the stock shocks were at 40k miles. Absolutely ZERO rebound. The springs were shot as well.

Got the following measurements (center of wheel to bottom lip of wheel well:

Side-------Before-----After-------Delta
RF:--------17 1/2-----19 3/4"---+2 1/4"
LR:--------18"--------20 3/4"---+2 3/4"

RR:--------18 1/4"----21"-------+2 3/4"
LR:--------18 1/2"----21 3/4"---+2 1/4"

Relocated the damper and replaced it with an OME one. Much better all around.

Off to the tire shop for 215/85 R16 Rover RT's.
