Hello
The past two days I started too get a poofing noise when accelerating fast, it will not do it when pulling out slow. It idles fine and runs highway speed fine (65-75) it seems to do it in mid power range at each gear. The noise sounds like a muffled backfire. It sounds like it is coming from the engine (90%sure) So if anyone can help thank I owe you one if not I will post later when problem is fixed.

Sounds like its coughing back through the intake system. That could be caused by many things. Does the truck buck or jerk at all while this is going on?

How old is you ignition wire? This happened to me, the stock wire crack(not that white powder stuff) and it was arcking over other ignition.... thus, causing mis-fire. Here is how you can check, at night with the engine running, follow the wires, and look for blue electrical arc. Mine was arcking right by the headers.

PS you might not want to touch the arc!
