I have recently bought a Disco II and want to take it off-road. What are the first few mods I should do to make my Disco more capable off-road?
I was considering lifting it and getting some better tires, what else?

here's what you do:
get some rock sliders and diff guards for protection, go wheeling, take lots of pics, send them to discoweb. then we can better help you with what other things to get.

get to know what your disco is capable of as is first, then start thinking of each mod carefully. you'll end up getting "everything" anyways. by the way there's no end to everything.
protection sounds good as your first choice.
