I was going to buy new at first, but some of you guys' comments and opinions have caused me to rethink that. I am now looking at buying used (99-2001 DSII) non-ACE model.....are there any reasons why I should or shouldn't consider earlier ones?

Any advice on what I should watch out for, and how to work with the dealers would be greatly appreciated (warranty extensions?). How would I make sure it is a quality vehicle if buying from an individual....dealer inspection?? My decision to buy used has made it possible to buy in 5 months rather than 10-12. I'd really appreciate any opinions and advice based on your experience.
