Hi
I need to remove the center console on a 95 automatic disco.
I want to remove it, and install some sound deadening material underneath the carpet.
Not sure exactly where the screws and nuts for the center console . I think I need to remove the plate which sits on the automatic level ( I think this is clip on)
thanks in advance

Yeah, it's a clip-on. So is the diff shifter boot thing. Pull them off, pull that rubber mat off, take out the window switch panel, release the hand brake boot, and unscrew all the screws you can find that hold that console to the "doghouse" (drivetrain tunnel). Lift from the rear of the console first, and it slides out from under the center trim panel on the dash. The power window switch panel can be removed by prying off the cover panel with a small flathead screwdriver, then unscrew the screws holding the switch board on. And that's about all there is to it.

dont forget to undo th wires for the windows before ripping the console out and also the cigarette lighter wires, I had to do this last week due to a deep river crossing its not that bad but be sure to write down which wire goes where or youll get them confused putting them back on
