Truck was displaying code 48 and not idling well (although not stalling) so I decided to try the Trans Am IAC at 40.00 as opposed to the LR stepper. Initial installation - wouldn't idle at all. Disconnected the battery to reset the computer. Then it idled rough and eventually evened out. That was last Saturday. Now it's still idling rough, although better than before, and the code 48 is back. Thoughts? Anyone else try this? Nathan, how much for the real thing?

Try taking your LR stepper motor out and cleaning it with carb cleaner. Replace the gasket around it or re-seal it with heat resistant silicone (the blue stuff). That can make a difference.

Do a key word search with code 48 and stepper motor, I post a detail fix.
