Especially when starting up. I need a couple O2 sensors, I know. It just suddenly has a TON more FAN noise for some reason? Idle goes back down to about 700'ish I think, but fires up and hovers at 1500 for a second or two -- plateaus there, then heads back down. Will new O2's cure it?
Actually, who's got em for sale for less than my soul?

Sounds normal to me... I can identify with a lot of fan noise, and not really sure if the fan blowing that much at start-up indicates the need for a new fan clutch, but oxygen sensors wouldn't really affect your start-up. It's called "fast-idle", because that's what it is. The computer runs the engine a little fast at start-up to warm it slightly before backing down to the normal idle (although it's usually not immediate). Ever driven a vehicle with an automatic choke? Start it (cold), it revs high, you wait a little, kick it down, wait a little more, kick it down to normal idle - essentially that's what your computer is doing. But maybe somebody else can diagnose the fan deal. My truck sounds like an airplane even on cold mornings now more than ever...

Thanks Jon, it just started doing this - and its even after its warmed up. The only reason I notice so much on startup is because its a stick - in neutral. But its 'between gear' fan noise in general for the duration of trips.
