Coming around a sweeping bend I turned slightly to correct direction with no result .The wheel was turning free.I was able to stop my rig before I crashed into anything. The spline in the lower shaft (the alloy side) had torn out.The female half of the joint of the input to the steering box.So beware , Land Rover Australia didn't care they said that the bolts should be checked every 10,000 klms.So if you service your own discovery inspect the bolts as it could result in severe injury or worse
