Just wondering if any body has one of these and if they are any good. They look almost the same as the ARB but, I was wondering about approach angle and strength and if the winch is top mounted or bottom mounted like the ARB..

I wanted one of those, but I couldn't find one anywhere in the US. I think it is a lot better(and cheaper) then the ARB. Good Luck with your search.

I've seen a TJM and ARB on Xterra's (same bar as the old Pathfinder bumper) and I've seen the ARB and TJM on TLC's.

The ARB appeared to be the more stout of the two on both applications in terms of mounting design and design of the bumper as a whole. I have used a ARB with a winch off road, but have not used a TJM bumper myself. TJM does give you more choices in terms of design and fabrication (you can get aluminum TJM's with steel inserts for the winch).

TJM is once again available in the US. They set up a new distributor earlier this year. Go to their web site.

Their web site has a distributor in TN. I was poking around there earlier.. I'm just trying to find out how it is in the real world.. I'm looking to find a good bumper that has a good approach angle, winch mount, and is strong. From most of the post that I have read the general opinion is to avoid the SG bumper. I had read a post on this board where one person had made his own and it looked really nice. I don't remember who that was though. He was talking about maybe making some and selling them but, I never heard anything else about it.

Two words - Manrico Delcore. He setup the Disco that was featured on the Atlantic British catalog. He used a TJM bumper when setting up his Disco. From one of his emails: "The car has 90,000 miles with at least 40,00040,000 of them being either off road trails or very primitive 4x4 roads overseas, haven't really had a problem." Enough said on the TJM subject!

I have the SafariGard bumper. It's expensive, but I believe it to be very well made. I'm not a rock crawler, so that may make a difference. If you go with SafariGard, go with the integrated skid plate. Much of the strength of the bumper comes from the braces that the skid plate mounts to.

Discovery owners are very fortunate it that we have lots of choices when it comes to bumpers. All of the popular models are really pretty good in my opinion.

someone want to buy my TJM? i have one on the disco right now and am planning on having a new bummper fabbed. i got my bumper from a FRS club member. and i think he got his from somewhere in TN or GA. you can contact Hella because i think they are the importers of TJM. there are pics in the gallery under Don Herrero...
